East West, founded by Reiko Obata, was formed in 2005 as a blend of artists, talent, and cultures. Reiko
Obata Reiko Obata is one of the leading American koto players in the traditional and jazz arenas. A Japanese-American born in California, she has studied under masters in the U.S. and Japan, receiving her koto master's degree from Seiha Conservatory of Japanese Music and a master's in music from San Diego State University. Obata's music has been featured in film and live theatre, and she has recorded CDs of her own compositions and arrangements. |

Jimmy Patton Nationally acclaimed guitarist Jimmy Patton is renowned for his ability to play two guitars simultaneously. In 2001, Patton claimed the title of "Best Unsigned Guitarist in the Nation," topping more than 3,000 guitarists in the national Guitarmageddon competition. Patton has shared the stage with Grammy award winner Stanley Jordan, Laurence Juber of Paul McCartney's "Wings," and keyboardist Derek Sherinian of "Dream Theater." |

Louisa
West One of the best jazz flutists in Southern California, Louisa West has a music performance degree from the University of Georgia where she performed in an orchestra conducted by the legendary Sammy Nestico, composer for the Count Basie Band. She has appeared on stage with Persian pop star Shakila and Nestor Torres. She is comfortable playing in a wide array of musical styles from flamenco to jazz and classical. |

Bizzett Russell Bizzett has a gift for rhythms that gives him a rare versatility with different music styles. He is known for his creativity as well as his sensitivity to balance. He has toured with Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, Jose Feliciano, and Freddy Hubbard. He has recorded for the Laverne & Shirley Show and the Merv Griffin Show. Russell has also performed with world-renowned Pops symphony orchestras including the Boston Pops and the Berlin Pops. |
